Fished from 8-1:00 with a buddy. Caught six browns I believe all were females but one fish. We had a double header (should of been a triple but paul missed it), one on right I caught. All fish caught on spawn.

How soon could I expect to see some Browns showing up in the Bender Park launch basin? I am sooo looking forward to getting some on spawn, fished under a slip bobber. Have been trying for Perch here, without much luck, but reports of Brown fishing here seem to indicate it's an excellent spot.

On shore fishing has been slow. There is a ton of fish inside the Racine harbor. This wheather has made it tough to get them to bite. Caught this chin the other day, on a spoon. Wod.

Fished Bender from 8-10:30 Monday morning. Two others out there with me. No fish between us. Only one boat going out and one coming in during that time. Winds were light, from the NW, then switched to light from the ESE. Water was clouded and green. From what the caretaker stated there was some pretty big wave action in the area over the past week that really stirred things up. I had one bump on a spawn sack under a slip float, but no takers. Good number of fish surfacing, but I think it's just going to take a few days to let the water clear a little. Better fishing in the days to come.

Fished up in the Bender launch basin Friday for just over two hours. Adjusted my tactics thanks to some advice from another angler. Lowered my spawn sacks to just above the bottom and hooked up twice. First significant fish from Bender all year. First was a piggy 27" Carp that weighed in at 8.9. Yeah, it was a only Carp, but it was the second longest fish I've ever caught, and the heaviest. A while later I detected something messing with my float and set the hook on a pretty 15 3/4" Rainbow. Beautiful silver fish with a pink streak down it's side. Gills were damaged by the hookset so I kept that one for a future meal. Hoping this is a sign that the action is picking up here and I can finally break into the Brown Trout category during 2009.
